The cottages are ideally located near Martel, excellent starting point to visit the region. The cottages are extremely clean, functional, well equipped and decorated with care, taste and elegance. Romantic cozy nests nestled at the edge of a wood, they offer a breathtaking view. Watching the stars on a deck chair or having dinner by candle light on the terrace were our favorites hobbies after long days of sightseeing or canoeing. The owners welcomed us very warmly, gave us helpful tips and discussing with them was a real pleasure. Thanks for this great experience & the sweetness of the place.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Le Rigaudou cottage which sits in a really beautiful and secluded location, and has been very tastefully restored and well equipped. This was all complemented by the welcome and care with received from our truly charming hosts.

We spent a week in this ideal place where the nature and scent are all around you. We instantly felt the calm and serenity the site offers. The house, finely decorated and with much taste, overlooking the valley, is very nice and convenient. We visited the major sites, Rocamadour, Goufre de Padirac and lovely medieval villages located near the gite. Don’t go back home without tasting the French specialities. We were delighted! Warm welcome from the owner who ensures our comfort and gives us valuable advice on the region. A beautiful week to rest and enjoy everything the region has to offer. ” We highly recommend!!

The gîtes du Rigaudou are hidden in a mysterious oasis of peace, green and breath-taking nature. Trees, a myriad of flowers and a stunning view on the distant hills set the scene for a most relaxing week. The chalet itself beggars believe: the warm Swedish and welcoming appearance of the outside is simply outdone by the clever and cosy decoration inside.
The hostesses Mireille and Viviane are welcoming, smart, engaging and helpful. Their tips on what to visit, and where resulted in one of our best holidays ever. Mireille is an interior designer, which explains the marvellous surroundings.

We went to Rigadou for our honeymoon and it was both breathtaking and beautiful. Mireille and Viviane were perfect hosts helping us with places to visit, things to do, booking restaurants and they even held a little celebration for us for our wedding. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and really shows off Mireille’s flair for interior design and the outside area with the terrace is wonderful. The view is magical and the use of the pool is such a bonus. It is a wonderful area and we would love to return to the gites and explore even more of the Dordogne.

We arrived to a wonderfully warm welcome and felt instantly relaxed. We stayed that way for the entire time, lazing by the pool and admiring the heavenly scents from the wonderfully immaculate lavender inspired gardens. The gite cabins are decorated to an exceptionally high standard, perfectly compact with everything you need. You are influenced by the personal touch and careful hand crafted consideration given to the gites, which have been designed to give a perfect picture frame view of the stunning landscape at every opportunity. A flawless stay, one to recommend and come back to.

Was a wonderful Gite in a beautiful location. It was very well equipped and tastefully furnished. Mireille and Vivianne were charming and excellent hosts. We had a relaxing holiday from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Couldnt recommend more highly.

Pastoral place
We have so much enjoyed our one-week stay in one of the gîtes Rigaudou: tasteful decoration, well-equipped, beautiful view, wonderful pool, warm welcome by Mireille and Viviane, and above all a calm and peaceful place. Congratulations, Mireille! You can be proud of what you can offer people seeking rest and tranquility.

Peaceful Surroundings, Genial Hosts
If we could rate this higher than five stars, we would. For a couple who seeks a quiet environment, close to nature but also convenient for day tripping in this culturally blessed region, Le Rigaudou is ideal. As others have mentioned, it is artfully decorated in a style simple and sympathetic to its surroundings and to the original architecture of the house. Impeccable taste marks both all the gites and the beautiful pool and its tended garden surroundings.
You will find your hosts, Mireille and Viviane helpful and genial yet discreet and unobstrusive. In short, all one could want in hosts for a gite.
It is hard to say enough good things about the environment here. If “away from it all” with beauty and adventure close at hand is the door to perfection in a vacation, Le Rigaudou or either of the smaller gites should offer you a memorable and restorative vacation.
Finally, on a personal note: while my wife and I were staying at Le Rigaudou, I experienced a very unexpected life-threatening health crisis. Viviane and Mireille stayed by my wife’s side and assisted her and me through the frightening and complex task of dealing with the health-care system of a foreign country (which itself turned out to be efficient in dealing with my crisis). We were truly blessed by their assistance and companionship.

Dear Mireille and Vivienne,
Thank you very much for being such wonderful hosts. Pat and I were made to feel very welcome and the drinks party on the final evening was so pleasant and enjoyable. Le Rigadou was so comfortable and homely.
The peace and quiet in your area was a welcome chance to escape the noise and artificial light of the modern era…If we are in the area again we should try and spend much longer there.
All the very best for the rest of the year and beyond.
It was lovely meeting you both.Love,

Marvelous cabin + great hosts = excellent holiday
My husband and I had a marvelous stay in one of Mirielle’s cabins. The cabin is just perfect for the two of us. Mirielle had put great care and thought into designing and decorating the cabin so that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including warm blankets for night star gazing or early morning breakfast. The entire property were beautifully landscaped so to give the guests privacy while relaxing and enjoying nature. The view of Lot Valley is magnificent in the morning with the fog, and all day long, with farm land and a castle here and there. Mirielle and Viviane were great hosts. Upon arrival, we were greeted like old friends with a glass of rose and charcuterie. We definitely left as friends and promised to come back! Mirielle recommended great villages and sites to see around the area. The property is conveniently located near the medieval village of Martel with lively markets and restaurants. It’s also a short drive to all of the great sites in the Dordogne and Lot Valley. We could lounge all day at the beautiful pool and just take in the view. In all, a great location to access Dordogne while also a very beautiful property to enjoy and relax. Thank you, Mirielle and Viviane! We’ll come back again soon!

We stayed in Reynoird gite. It has been superbly designed and created by Mireille in terms of space, style, décor and practicalities and utensils, with her generous hospitality to match. The location is peaceful and ideal: extensive views with woods, local walks, farmland and a warm swimming pool to return to. We’ve been to the region before so the following were among the new visits: Martel + excellent market square and historic steam train are within 4 km; the Padirac limestone chasm, a genuine natural-world wonder is close; Sarlat was well worth a further drive.
